Innovating for Vision Zero: Strategies to Enhance Road Safety was the topic of the 17th International Road Safety Conference, organised by ASECAP and hosted by APCAP, that was held on 11 March 2025 in Cascais. The programme prepared by COPER II members gathered more than 200 delegates from over 20 countries.
The conference addressed critical topics shaping the future of road safety. We explored innovative measures to prevent ghost driver accidents, including advanced signage and ITS alert systems. The event also highlighted efficient systems and procedures to enhance staff safety and prevent workplace accidents. Additionally, we discussed cutting-edge approaches to improve the lifesaving chain, focusing on reducing rescue times and accelerating patroller response. Finally, we examined how innovation, C-ITS, and AI are contributing to the vision of zero accidents on our roads.
