MOTORWAY CONCESSIONS IN POLAND

POLSKIE AUTOSTRADY KONCESYJNE (PAK) - the forum for the co-operation of Polish concession companies - which adopted the name of Polish Concession Motorways (PAK) acting in the scope of LEWIATAN Polish Confederation of Private Employers. PAK was established on March 7, 2016.

PAK is composed of the following companies: Autostrada Wielkopolska S.A., Autostrada Wielkopolska II S.A., Stalexport Autostrada Malopolska S.A. and Gdansk Transport Company S.A. The forum acts independently from public authority bodies and political, social and professional organisations.

The principles of co-operation have been defined in the separate Regulations, and constitute the continuation of their prior memorandum of understanding signed by all four parties.

The decision to form PAK was also made for the purpose of representing Polish concessionaires in ASECAP. PAK is represented in ASECAP by Robert Nowak, Pawel Kocot and Michal Pabich and, referring to media relations, Zofia Kwiatkowska represents the forum as the spokersperson.

The purpose of the PAK parties is to strengthen mutual co-operation, including the implemetnation of joint ventures for developing and enhancing toll motorways standards, to promote safe behaviour of drivers in toll motorways and to represent common interests of member companies vis-à-vis the public party in consideration of specifics and any differences resulting from concession agreements entered into by each company.

Moreover, the key tasks of PAK forum are to:

1) contribute to influencing legistation concerning the interests of toll motorways companies;

2) contribute to formulating social and economic policy of public administration bodies impacting the interests of concessionaires;

3) address the lawmakers with motions and opinions in the scope of legal documents concerning the interests of Forum members with regard to employment relations and economic policy;

4) co-operate with other social, non-governmental organisations, etc.
